About the Artist
Kaitlin McDaid is an artist based in Portland Oregon. She is working towards her BFA at the University of Oregon. Her areas of interest include illustration and graphic design. She has familiarity with adobe softwares and procreate. Kaitlin has found a love for the outdoors through her time as a girl scout and exploring the PNW with her family. This shines through in her art which often takes inspiration from Portland’s local flora and fauna. Kaitlin has worked and volunteered in child care and early education throughout high school finding a love for education and working with kids. Her goal is to find a career in picture book illustration, and someday author/illustrate her own book.
Kaitlin is currently an Illustrator at the Daily Emerald and Align Magazine, both student run publications at the University of Oregon. She also works as an intern for a non profit press, Qilin Press based in Portland Oregon that works to provide children’s Literature to underrepresented communities. She is working to gain exposure in the art industry and is incredibly passionate.
